Hi Guys: I just want to say thanks to all of you that have subscribed to my RSS Feed today. Now as promised in my previous post 11 Powerful Blog Traffic Tips here are some really handy wordpress plugins, be careful not to double up on the social media and bookmarking plugins and dont try to install all of them in one day.
Once you have completed this project head over to Anchor Text & Pictures
Install one at a time then go back to your homepage and make sure your site is still working the way it should be. I have used all of these plugins at one stage or another, some of them are deactivated now, but none of these gave me any trouble with my Wordpress Thesis Theme.
Some of these plugins take a bit of time to set up properly and my only advice would be write down all your logins, usernames & passwords to refer back to in case you get in a bind and forget, this may save you a lot of time and frustration later.
I am speaking from past experience “Not good past experience 
” and now I write every username, password & email down just in case.
The best way to install these Wordpress Plugins is to login to your wordpress admin panel (www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin) and goto plugins >- Add New >- Search. When you find what you want just install it from right there in the in your site. You should see an Install Button on the right hand side of the selected plugin or just follow these video instructions.

I haven’t gone into a lot of detail with these as the best explanations are with the plugins themselves.
Addtoany: Help people share & bookmark your content with the world’s best sharing button
Askimet: Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it. You can review the spam it catches under “Comments.”
All In One Video Pack: This is not just another video embed tool – it includes every functionality you might need for video and rich-media, including playing, uploading and editing.

Google Analytics for WordPress: This plugin makes it simple to add Google Analytics with extra search engines and automatic clickout and download tracking to your WordPress blog
Google XML Sitemaps: This plugin will generate a sitemaps.org compatible sitemap of your WordPress blog which is supported by Ask.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO.
Hello Dolly: This is not just a plugin, it symbolizes the hope and enthusiasm of an entire generation summed up in two words sung most famously by Louis Armstrong: Hello, Dolly. When activated you will randomly see a lyric from Hello, Dolly in the upper right of your admin screen on every page. “If your into that”
Hocus Pocus Buttons: is a Wordpress-Plugin that provides sidebar widget with a widerange set of buttons for social bookmarking websites. However each button is only visible to the user if he has visited the corresponding site lately. The goal is not to disturb the user by using too many buttons / links (since he could probably only use one or two at all) and rather only show relevant services.
OnlyWire: Onlywire is a service that allows you to spread your content to multiple social sites from one place with the touch of a single button
Customizable Search Widget: Adds a Customizable Search Widget to give you more control over how the search box looks on your sidebar.
Embed YouTube Videos in WordPress: Include YouTube videos inside posts or pages and also in a widget. Works in WP version 2.5+
Featured Content Gallery: Used to create a customizable rotating image gallery anywhere within your WordPress site.
Popularity Contest: This will enable ranking of your posts by popularity; using the behavior of your visitors to determine each post’s popularity. You set a value (or use the default value) for every post view, comment, etc. and the popularity of your posts is calculated based on those values. Once you have activated the plugin, you can configure the Popularity Values and View Reports. You can also use the included Widgets and Template Tags to display post popularity and lists of popular posts on your blog.

So there you go, this should keep you busy for a while and dont forget to make sure you don’t double up on things, some of the social media plugins may seem like they will double up, but when you look more closely you will notice that one may not have every site the other has so just enable what you need.
There is virtually an endless list of plugins, for example… there are plugins specifically made for Amazon ect… thats why I have only covered the basic traffic generating helpers.
