11 Powerful Blog Traffic Generation Tips
Here’s a few tips to help you get driving more traffic to your blog over the next 30 days or so.
- 1. I don’t want to flog a dead horse here but this has to be mentioned as it’s fundamentally the most important piece of advice I can offer you. Write good interesting content.
- 2. Learn the basics of SEO Optimization “Search Engine Optimization”. and SEO your content to get it ranked on the search engines. Wordpress has some excellent plugins that help with this and I will be sure to make a list of great plugins and put them up on our site soon.
- 3. Once you have your Article or post ready SEO and all, share it on all the social networking & bookmarking sites, Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Del.icio.us, ect… “I will do up a list of these sites and post it on our blog” If you are using a wordpress blog then install a plugin called onlywire, that’s www.onlywire.com this is an excellent social networking and bookmarking plugin that performs remarkably and does a tonne of work with the click of your mouse, you will need to spend a few hrs setting up membership on all the sites first but it’s worth the effort if you’re serious about traffic. Took me about 4hrs then a couple of 10min sessions tweaking my own mistakes with the automatic logins. PS. Be sure to write down each sites login details where you won’t lose them. Some want an email address and others ask for a username.
- 4. Ping Lists are big traffic gens. If you haven’t set up your ping list, go to my Ping List post and follow the instructions on installing it to your wordpress blog.
- 5. Write, submit and promote content on a regular basis. Make it a rule to write one piece of content be it either an article or blog post every day.
- 6. Press Releases are an awesome way to get traffic and generate strong reliable backlinks “Note To Self: Make a list of Press Release links”
- 7. Google loves video content, so come up with some good video content and use a service like www.Tubemogul.com or www.TrafficGeyser.com, TrafficGyser will cost about $97 USD per month and is regarded as the best video marketing service there is. Tubemogul offers a free service that’s really good and also has a premium option. You will need to become a member of these sites also.
- 8. RSS Feeds; submitting your RSS feed to a bundle of RSS Aggregators is well worth the effort, see the list a list of RSS Feed Aggregators below, it should keep you busy for an hr or so. “If you don’t understand RSS Feeds leave a comment and I will do my best to help you out. “Just keep in mind that Im not a techy ok”

- 9. Always make a reference to your site in your articles, blog posts, videos… everything you do. Don’t be scared to tell your audience to visit your site, if you are doing a good job providing useful information they will be happy to take a look at what else you may have to offer.
- 10. You should always have your opt-in form above the fold “The term fold refers to newspapers, you see them folded on the shelf every day and the biggest headline is always above the fold” I will also make up a post and some video training on opt-in forms over the coming week.
- 11. Article Marketing: Article Marketing is another extremely powerful traffic generating strategy and it fits in so well into blogging, just write your article, spin it “Make multiple slightly different versions of it” then submitt it to 250+ Article Directories. - It’s no doubt going to take you a while to achieve all that’s mentioned here but if you take the time and put the effort in you will see results. Don’t expect to make a bunch of money overnight, blogging is a long term strategy that you have to continue to work at on a daily basis.
